Biography
Beyond the fact that Chris Farlowe was in their lineup, little is known of this band from Ipswich except that they were produced by veteran impresario Cyril Stapleton and they tried to cash in on the brief ska/bluebeat boom of 1964 that had been fostered by Millie Small and the Migil Five. Their one single, The Blue Beat with I Wanna Shout on English Decca was surprisingly good as a piece of exploitation, but it disappeared without leaving much of a trace. Following this brief detour, Farlowe returned to work with his own band, the Thunderbirds, and cut singles under his own name, leading to his breakthrough as an artist in 1965 and 1966. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
