Biography
Quintet from Savannah, GA, who had a surprisingly English sound -- rather like the the Move leading up to Shazam -- not found that often south of the Mason-Dixon Line, based on their only known release, People Say. The latter was co-authored by vocalist Charlie Stafford and lead guitarist Gary Pearson, whose shimmering lead instrument is exceptionally pretty and a serious change of pace from the usual fuzzed-out psychedelic pyrotechnics of the period. Released in 1967 on Associated Artists, its only flaw is that there was no second or third single to go with it. The other members were George Rody on keyboards, Jim Rody on bass, and Jody Dawson at the drum kit. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
