A versatile and popular Taiwanese Mandopop singer, songwriter, and record producer, Sung Nien-yu, who goes by the stage name Xiao Yu, spent his early years writing and producing for others before embarking on a successful solo career in 2008.

His 2008 debut, Classmate Xiao Yu That's Me, drew accolades, but it was his sophomore effort, 2009's Just Standing Here, that made him a star -- the LP spent over 20 consecutive weeks on Taiwan's G-Music album sales chart. 2012's One More Time earned him a nomination for Best Mandarin Male Singer at the 24th Golden Melody Awards. A five-year break followed in 2013, which saw him complete his military service and switch record labels.
