Biography
Blues guitarist and singer Del Rey began her musical training in classical guitar at the tender age of four. When she hit her teens and found blues music, the serene classical numbers fell to the side. Her music soon rang with the soul of blues, but jingled a little, too, with ragtime and jazz, and even some rock flavoring to stir things up.

Rey's first album, Café Society, was released in 1985 under the old Kicking Mule Records label. A few years later, the full-length sophomore Chartreuse came out. It was followed by a third release in 1993, Boogie Mysterioso, and then by Hot Sauce in 1995, both released from Hobemian Records. There was a five-year break before Rey's next album came to be. To the delight of waiting fans, X-Rey Guitar hit the market in 2000. Some of the terrific toe-tapping tunes fans are offered on these albums are How Can You Have the Blues, Little Dog Blues, Straw Broom Boogie, and Boogie Woogie Country Girl. ~ Charlotte Dillon, Rovi
