Philippe Boesmans studied composition and piano at the Liège Conservatory and later embraced the serial methods of Froidebise. He studied composition with Pousseur and collaborated with him at the Liège electronic music studios. He was also a music producer for Belgium radio and has performed with the Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles as a pianist. He was the recipient of the Italia Prize for Upon la mi (1971). Philippe Boesmans died in Brussels, Belgium after a brief illness on April 10, 2022; he was 85 years of age. ~ Lynn Vought, Rovi
