Biography
Psychic Motion were actually the Young Ones, a North Carolina band who'd put out a previous single, Too Much Lovin', that found some regional success in parts of that state. For their second single, 1967's Big Teaser/It's You, the Young Ones changed their name to Psychic Motion to avoid conflict with another band called the Young Ones in a different part of the country. Like the debut single, it was typical mid-'60s garage music with Farfisa organ, and not particularly outstanding. The group did change their name back to the Young Ones after the Psychic Motion single, but they didn't release anything else before disbanding later in 1967. The Young Ones drummer Jimmy Sossamon later played in the Cykle, who made a psychedelic garage album in 1969. Both sides of the Young Ones/Psychic Motion singles were reissued on the Cykle CD compilation Cykle Featuring: the Young Ones, though all four of the tracks were credited to the Young Ones on this release. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
