Biography
Ghost Town DJ's featured Darryl Demp Andrews, Rodney Kool Kollie Terry, and Vickie Boo Washington. They appeared on So So Def Bass All-Stars, a compilation released in June 1996 that was put together by Jermaine Dupri's Columbia-affiliated label. "My Boo," the group's Miami bass-inspired contribution -- a love song over a straightforward bass track with a chiming keyboard melody and sweet vocal -- quickly became the album's biggest hit after southern U.S. radio stations put it in heavy rotation. The single peaked at number 18 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and cracked the Top 40 of the all-genre Hot 100. The same year, the group released a pair of independent albums that appealed more to bass fanatics than to pop listeners. The group split in 1997. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
