Biography
Despite winning a K-pop reality show competition, Korean singer Katie eschews the manufactured pop sounds of the genre and focuses on a lush, R&B delivery with bilingual English-Korean lyrics.

Born Katie Kim Seo-hyeon in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, South Korea, she was raised in New Jersey. In 2015, she made her breakthrough by winning the fourth season of South Korean reality audition show K-pop Star 4. On the show, she performed covers of songs by g.o.d., Na-Mi, Kim Jo-han, Tashannie, Amy Winehouse, and J.Y. Park of JYP Entertainment, beating second place contestant Jung Seung-hwan in the final. Although she signed with YG Entertainment, she didn't release much during her tenure with the label, hopping onto a collaborative track with Bobby and DK with 2017's "Secret." In 2018, she parted ways with YG and signed with Axis that May. A month later, Kim issued the single "Remember." ~ Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi
