Biography
Respectfully known as "one of British folk music's finest ambassadors," Brian Peters has been exploring the traditional folk music of England for nearly two decades. A multi-faceted instrumentalist, Peters has balanced his solo career with performances and recordings with an old-time string band, the Lost Nation Band, and in a duo that he shares with guitarist/flute player Gordon Tyrrall. He sang and acted in the national tour of the folk opera +The Widow's Uniform, while his resume as a studio musician includes guest appearances on an album by Mike Harding and recordings for the Carlin Music Library.

Performing his debut concert at the Manchester Folk Club in 1981, Peters spent several years accompanying folk song collector Jamie Knowles. His debut solo album, Persistance of Memory, was released in 1986. His second album, Fools of Fortune, released two years later, was voted Folk Album of the Year by -Folk Roots. While his third album, Sharper Than the Thorn, released in 1996, focused on traditional songs and ballads, The Beast in the Box, released in 1988, was a showcase for Peters' virtuosic squeezebox playing. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
