Haunted Hearts were formed in the early 2010s by the husband-and-wife team of Dum Dum Girls guitarist/vocalist Dee Dee Penny and Crocodiles member Brandon Welchez. In early interviews, the pair alluded to the new act being an equal split between the abrasive rock tones of Crocodiles and the more pop-minded songcraft of Dum Dum Girls. The group's first single, Something That Feels Bad Is Something That Feels Good, materialized in February of 2013 on their own Zoo Music label, and they followed in the summer of the next year with debut full-length Initiation, also released on the Zoo Music imprint. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
