Biography
The female half of quirky, YouTube-loving indie pop duo Pomplamoose, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nataly Dawn (born Nataly Dawn Knutsen) was born in 1986 to missionary parents and spent the bulk of her childhood in Europe. After spending her formative years in France and Belgium, she moved to California to study Art and French literature at Stanford, where she met fellow musician Jack Conte and formed Pomplamoose. She released her first collection of solo material, Her Earlier Stuff, in 2009. In 2011, she appeared on the song "Letter from a Fan," from Barry Manilow's conceptual 15 Minutes album. That same year she started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a new album. She met her goal in just three days, and in 2012 inked a deal with Nonesuch Records who agreed to release it. The resulting How I Knew Her, a heady blend of Regina Spektor and Rufus Wainwright-inspired chamber rock, blues, folk, jazz, and pop noir, arrived in early 2013. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
