I had hoped that you might find an answer
To still the sullen pacing of your heart
But the doubt swept through you like a cancer
And tore the very roots apart

Now that you are gone and we are older
I hope you know I never meant you harm
Add me to the weight you carry over
I hope the sea is warm and calm

Worn were the sails that took me from you
Pearl were the banners around me they flew
On fire was every arrow that fell into the sea
Just the shafts now lay black on the surface
