SAN JOSE, California – June 13, 2012 – SoundHound Inc., the revolutionary sound search company, today announced it has hired former Pandora sales executive Cheryl Lucanegro as its new vice president of advertising strategy and sales. The hire comes as the company expands rapidly and focuses on growing an ad sales team to monetize its wildly popular free service, the SoundHound music search and discovery app, which recently surpassed 80 million users globally. New sponsorship and advertising opportunities were recently released in SoundHound version 5.0 expanding upon SoundHound's deep user engagement and powerful social media integration with easy sharing to Facebook.

Lucanegro joins the company with a stellar track record in advertising sales that includes joining Internet radio sensation Pandora early stage and successfully building that company's ad products and revenues.

Before joining SoundHound, Lucanegro was senior vice president of advertising sales at Pandora, when it went public in 2011. Prior to that, Lucanegro was a publisher at Edutopia, part of George Lucas Educational Foundation. Her previous sales experience includes serving as senior vice president of sales at Salon Media Group and at Industry Standard, and as vice president of sales and associate publisher at Upside Magazine. Earlier, she served as regional sales manager at Ziff Davis Publishing Company. She has a BS degree in Journalism from the University of Florida.
