Biography
California native A'me Lorain (born Amy Trujillo) is a singer best known for her 1990 dance hit "Whole Wide World." The song appeared on the 1989 album Starring In...Standing in a Monkey Sea, released by RCA Records and credited to A'me Lorain the Family Affair (which consisted of her brother Freddy Trujillo and husband Victor Indrizzo). After being featured on the soundtrack for the 1989 romantic comedy True Love, the song hit number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. The somewhat early-Madonna-evoking follow-up single, "Follow My Heartbeat," also hit the chart, peaking at number 72. After a nearly 25-year break from the public eye, Lorain joined Twitter and self-released a series of much warmer, acoustic-minded singles in late 2015 with the promise of more to come. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
