Biography
Named in reference to a lyric in the Beatles' cryptic "Glass Onion," the Bent Backed Tulips was an alias for the New Jersey-based alternative pop band Dramarama, and featured that group's core members, including singer John Easdale, bassist Chris Carter, and guitarists Mark Englert and Peter Wood. To release the limited-edition European LP Looking Through..., they adopted the name Bent Backed Tulips so as not to confuse fans with the new Dramarama album issued at much the same time; after Dramarama's 1994 breakup, however, the name game became a moot point, and Looking Through... was finally released in the U.S. in 1995. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
