Biography
The Amazing Royal Crowns began their career in Providence, RI, in the early '90s. They performed a modernized version of rockabilly, releasing two independent albums and gaining popularity in the Boston area. They signed to Monolyth Records to release their self-titled debut, which was to unknowingly be their last under that name. The band was a big hit in the underground, big enough for the Royal Crown Review to take notice. The similarly named band decided that the Amazing Royal Crowns was just too much like their own name, so with the threat of legal action they drove the band to reluctantly change their name to the Amazing Crowns in 1998. The band stayed away from their old moniker until the fall of 2001, when they decided to call it a career with one last concert as the Amazing Royal Crowns. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
