Ian Isiah was born in Brooklyn in 1989 and grew up singing in gospel groups before beginning to perform solo at open-mic nights in his late teens. In 2013, he released his first mixtape, The Love Champion. The project introduced many listeners to Isiah's unique approach to R&B songwriting and included guest spots from Le1f and Mykki Blanco. Isiah was relatively quiet for the next five years, issuing occasional singles and making sporadic guest appearances on tracks with artists like Blood Orange and Yves Tumor. Second mixtape Shugga Sextape (Vol. 1) arrived in 2018, with eight songs centered around sexual exploits and bedroom antics. Two years later, his third mixtape, Auntie, was released, featuring collaboration from Onyx Collective on the song "Bougie Heart." ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
