Biography
The East Coast-based husband and wife duo of Stan Moeller and T.S. Baker have built a steady following, especially in the New England area, with their eclectic brand of folk. The pair's sound owes as much to the diversity of pop and rock as it does to the folk scene (they recorded a cover of Chad Jeremy's "Summer Song" and tip their hat to the likes of the Beatles, Tom Waits and Kurt Weill), and have released three albums and a single filled with traces of folk, pop, light jazz, blues and Latin rhythms. Moeller, whose percussive acoustic guitar injects a rhythmic energy into much of their material, originally hails from the Midwest, as does Baker, who aside from playing guitar, piano, accordion, mandolin and percussion, has played a major part in producing and arranging all three of their albums, as well as the debut effort from singer/songwriter Cosy Sheridan. Moeller also recorded one LP on his own, the 1980 release Thin Ties. ~ Brett Hartenbach, Rovi
