Born and raised just outside Atlanta in College Park, Scott co-founded Xscape (which also featured her sister LaTocha) while she was in high school. One of the biggest R&B acts of the '90s, their three albums for Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label were certified platinum, driven by a total of five Top Ten pop hits. Following a partial and brief Xscape reunion in 2000s, Scott branched out, co-writing "Step Aside" for Yolanda Adams and contributing as a songwriter and performer to Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls and Why Did I Get Married?, among other pursuits. A short reunion of the original Xscape lineup led to an EP as a trio, Here for It, released in 2018 under the name Xscap3. Shortly thereafter, Scott released a trio of solo singles that culminated in 2019 with Family Affair, a six-track EP produced mostly by long-term collaborator Wirlie Morris. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
