Biography
Vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr., aka Thomas Giles, is a heavy metal and electronic-based artist best known for his work with the metalcore band Between the Buried and Me. Born in Morganton, North Carolina in 1980, Giles first came to prominence as a member of the progressive metal band Prayer for Cleansing, with which he performed from 1999 to 2000. After that band broke up, Giles formed Between the Buried and Me, with whom he would go on to release a string of acclaimed albums including 2003's The Silent Circus, 2009's The Great Misdirect, 2012's The Parallax II: Future Sequence, and 2018's Automata. Away from Between the Buried and Me, Giles has also worked on several side projects including the electronic-based Giles and the duo Jacob Rogers with musician Jacob Troth. In 2011 Giles released his debut solo album, Pulse, on Metal Blade. Three years later, he returned with his sophomore solo effort, Modern Noise, and in 2018 he inked a deal with Sumerian and issued solo outing number three, Don't Touch the Outside. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
