Violeta Rivas
Biography
Argentinean singer/actress Violeta Rivas made her live debut while singing in a local theater at the age of five. After moving from her native town to Buenos Aires, the young artist started singing Italian traditional tunes in a radio show called La Pandilla Marilyn, broadcast by Radio Porteña. After studying vocalization, Violeta Rivas participated in a local contest, along with musician Carlos García, performing Core'Ngrato. She came in first place and had the opportunity to sign with RCA in 1960, recording La Luna, el Cielo y Tú, her first single, and working as a backup singer for Puerto Rican Bobby Capó soon after. In 1962 the singer started touring South America, successfully performing in Perú and Venezuela. A year later, while hosting a TV show called #El Club del Clan, Violeta Rivas' self-titled album was released. In 1964 the artist participated in the musical +Todo Es Amor, played a role in the movie #Buenas Noches, Buenos Aires, and issued Que Suerte, followed by 1965's Violeta Rivas con Amor.
