Biography
Charles "Dub" Howlington and Roy Howlington were based in the Washington, D.C. area, and performed throughout the southeast, especially on radio. They recorded for Gotham in Philadelphia under a licensing agreement with D.C. Records in Washington. The Howlingtons also led the backing band the Tennessee Haymakers, who apparently recorded separately as well-their line-up included Dub Howlington on electric guitar, Brownie Galloway on guitar, Jimmy Dean on accordion, and Roy Howlington on bass. Their single releases included "Our Shotgun Wedding Day" and "Roll The Patrol, " and they cut for labels ranging from Gotham and Loop to Decca and Atlantic at different times. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
