True Vibe, composed of members Jonathan Lippmann, Nathan Gaddis, Jason Barton, and Jordan Roe, was born out of Lippmann's desire to pursue musical excellence without watering down his Christian faith.

A founding member of the pop group 98 Degrees, Lippmann decided to leave the band just as they were signing a recording contract. While the decision was due in part to previously made acting commitments, Lippmann also wanted to place a greater emphasis and focus on his relationship with God.

The singer and actor, who has appeared in the television series #Sweet Valley High and in Burger King commercials, moved to Nashville, TN, where his vision for the group True Vibe became a reality. The foursome performed at venues including a New York Knicks game, #Late Night With David Letterman, and the Arena Bowl in Orlando, FL.

After much media attention, the group signed with Essential Records and released their debut album in May 2001.
