Born Catherine Saint Jude Pretorius in Cape Town, she faced adversity from the get-go. Undeterred, she led the charge in Cape Town's drag scene, using the name Saint Dude to become a drag king based loosely on Lil Wayne. Her second alias, Dope Saint Jude, emerged in 2013. After trying out other people's productions to rap over, Jude eventually took matters into her own hands, preferring to produce for herself and retrain full creative control. Her hard work began to show in 2017, upon the release of her debt EP, Reimagine, which caught the attention of the global community, including M.I.A.m who invited Jude to star in her H&M campaign. Her second EP, 2018's Resilient, found an even wider audience, helped by the inclusion of the single "Grrl Like." ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
