Biography
After the fall of the House of Love, Guy Chadwick formed the short-lived Madonnas, who sporadically gigged throughout the last half of 1994, including a short stint opening for the Cranberries (who once opened for the House of Love, ironically). Without a label, the band recorded a batch of songs, hoping to release an EP by early summer of 1995. Chadwick broke up the band before anything saw release and moved to Belgium. He then formed yet another group, the Eyedreams, who had an album dusted off in London by the end of 1995. Things appeared to be full steam ahead until Chadwick put an end to that band as well, again prior to any commercial releases. By mid-1996, he returned to London and began working on solo material, eventually inking a deal with Setanta a year later. An EP introducing Chadwick's relaxed, acoustic-based pop songs appeared by the end of 1997, and the aptly titled Lazy, Soft and Slow arrived the following year (with extensive help from the Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie), as well as another EP. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
