After gaining recognition as the vocalist for South Korean R&B duo Offonoff, singer/songwriter Colde struck out on his own. While his solo work continued the laid-back R&B style his group was known for, he brought more of a smooth hip-hop and rap flavor to some songs on his 2018 debut EP Wave.

Colde was born Gim Hui-su in 1994. After his duo Offonoff set themselves apart from the general K-pop sound with their decidedly R&B approach, Colde began working on solo material in a similar style. His debut material came in the form of the 2018 single "Your Dog Loves You," a relaxed and minimal track that highlighted Colde's vocal harmonies. Shortly after the release of the single, he issued the eight-song EP Wave, which included a mix of chilled-out R&B, old-school funk instrumentals, and more hard-edged rap tracks. The album peaked at number 23 on the Gaon charts and Colde returned quickly with second EP Love, Pt. 1 in May of 2019. That EP also fared well in the charts and he kept his momentum going with the release of new single "Control Me," issued in September of the same year. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
