The Just Five were one of five Belfast groups included on the 1966 Ember Records LP compilation Ireland's Greatest Sounds: Five Top Groups from Belfast's Maritime Club. Like Them, they played regularly at Belfast's Maritime Hotel, and played R&B-drenched rock, although without nearly as much distinction. The Ember Records anthology included a couple of original tunes by the band, It's a Cruel World being an average, competent R&B-derived number, and the gentler I Will Have You being a slighter more melodic and folky outing, although neither cuts were too memorable. Both of them were reissued on the Big Beat compilation Belfast Beat Maritime Blues, an anthology of mid-'60s tracks by Belfast groups. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
