Biography
Ghanaian afrobeat singer/songwriter Dennis Nana Dwamena (aka KiDi) rose to fame through his participation in talent contests, before blazing his own trail through Ghana's highlife scene.

Hailing from Accra, Ghana, Dwamena was proactive in getting his music heard through his regular appearances at "Moonlight Café" events; nights that are designed to give new artists a chance to perform. He originally went by many names, including Sugar Daddy, Mr. Badman, and Gyal dem Sugar, but settled on KiDi after signing up for the MTN Hitmaker competition in 2015. He won the talent show, securing a signing to Lynx Entertainment. Before launching himself fully into his music, he decided to see out his education, graduating from the University of Ghana Legon with a degree in Economics and Information Studies in 2016. The following year he released his breakthrough single "Say You Love Me." An ambitious debut album, Sugar, saw release in 2019, accompanied by a feature film of the same name. With his career in full swing, he followed up with an EP, 2020's Blue, and a second full-length album, 2022's Golden Boy. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
