Biography
Andy Reiss plays guitar for the Time Jumpers, a Nashville-based Western swing band that is composed of session singers and musicians. During his youth in San Francisco, he played with several different types of bands. Following his graduation from high school, he toured with a show band. For the next 12 years, he performed as part of numerous groups that covered a range of styles, from show tunes to honky tonk. After marrying Paula Peace, he settled in Nashville during the early '80s. There he met Pete Drake, a steel guitar player and music producer who was instrumental in helping Reiss become a session musician. He first worked on a Slim Pickens recording that featured the Jordanaires, Pete Wade, Charlie McCoy, Pig Robbins, Bob Moore, and Drake. Two decades followed as a session musician in Nashville. Reiss contributed to numerous recordings, among them Does He Love You by Reba McEntire and Linda Davis and Amazing Grace by B.J. Thomas. Both records took home a Grammy Award. Reiss and his wife have two children, Will and Louisa. ~ Linda Seida, Rovi
