Biography
Brooklyn-based duo Francis Harris (aka Adultnapper) and Anthony Collins released several records of smooth, dreamy deep house under the name Frank Tony. The duo co-founded the Scissor Thread label in 2011 along with Shawn Schwartz (owner of Brooklyn record shop Halcyon) and Atlanta-based Michael Scott, and they began releasing a series of Frank Tony EPs in 2012. Several of the duo's early songs were collaborations with indie dance duo Bob Moses, who would eventually sign to Domino after releasing two EPs on Scissor Thread. Frank Tony's EPs gained praise from influential dance music publications like Resident Advisor and FACT, building up anticipation for their debut full-length. This came in the form of 2014's You Go Girl, which was praised as one of the best underground house albums of the year, with the sweet, calmly blissful "Bring the Sun" receiving the most attention. DJ Koze included an edit of the track on his 2015 DJ-Kicks mix CD, and the duo continued releasing 12"s. Arriving in 2015, The Gales was released by Japan's Mule Musiq, but otherwise the duo issued their music through their own Scissor Thread. They concluded the Frank Tony project with their 2017 release, Odes. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
