Biography
DJ and rapper Luke Nasty was born Leterrance Davis in High Point, North Carolina. While still a saxophonist in high school, he joined the 336 Boyz, a four-man crew influenced by Atlanta snap music (á la Dem Franchize Boyz and D4L). The group released two albums -- 2010's I Told You So and 2012's Full Cups and Empty Bottles -- before Davis graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2013. His first solo project was the slick, laid-back Highway Music: Stuck in Traffic, which featured the explicit single "Might Be," a sexy freestyle rapped over Anderson .Paak's sample of Xscape's "Who Can I Run To." Released in September 2015, "Might Be" broke into the Billboard 200 and topped the Rap Airplay chart in early 2016. At the end of the year, he released the Boom Boom Room EP, a collection of dance tracks that included the single "OTW" featuring 2 Chainz. In 2018, he returned with the album Cruise Control, which featured collaborations with DaBaby, Rotimi, Boss Bundles, and G. Yamazawa. The single "Bread" arrived in 2019. ~ Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi
