Biography
Norwegian singer/songwriter Carl Espen Thorbjørnsen -- simply known as Carl Espen -- represented his country at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Based in the Western Norwegian town Bergen, Espen entered the national competition Melodi Grand Prix in 2014 to perform at the Copenhagen contest, and progressed to the final in Oslo, where he was eventually selected to represent the country with the song "Silent Storm," penned by his cousin. His stirring performance at Eurovision earned him eighth place with 88 points, losing to eventual winner Conchita Wurst of Austria.
