Biography
Patricia Shih has maintained a successful dual career in the folk and children's markets. Her work has been widely recorded by other artists, and she has been a guest artist on many compilations for children.

Patricia was born in New York City, but grew up in Maryland and San Francisco. She started out as an artist, receiving her BFA in painting from Lone Mountain College in California. But the lure of a musical career was too great.

Patricia's first album for adults, Leap of Faith, was released on Flying Fish in 1988. Two years later, she released her first album for kids, Big Ideas, on her own Glass Records label. Several of the songs on the album, especially "The Color Song" and "Eating Is Fun, Eating Is Serious" were re-released on compilations.

In 1995, Patricia released her second album for children, Making Fun. The album featured several original and characteristically upbeat songs. Shih kept up a vigorous touring schedule throughout the United States. Shih also became well known through her work hosting Tell Me a Story on Cablevision. ~ P.J. Swift, Rovi
