The possessor of a laid-back voice that alternates easily between sly and yearning, R&B singer and songwriter Bradd Young was raised in St. Louis and was recording as early as the age of 16. Along with partner Pretty Boy, Young broke into the industry by collaborating with several artists, including Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kelly Rowland, and Maino. In 2008, his own easygoing “Girlz,” released through his and Pretty Boy's RockHouse Music label, caused a stir on St. Louis’ airwaves and crept into Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart that August. The ballad “Grown Man” managed the same feat a couple months later; it eventually reached the parent chart, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, in January 2010. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
