Biography
Frankie Lester was best-known as the singer in Hal McIntyre's band during the mid-'40s He later became the featured vocalist in Buddy Morrow's band during the mid-'50s and made his own recordings during this period (Nip Sip, 1955). One of Lester's more notable achievements, according to Billy Vera, was that he had actually mastered and used on record the phrasing that Frank Sinatra would perfect in the mid-'50s at Capitol, several years prior to Sinatra's putting any of that work down on record. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
