South London MC Funmi Ohiosumad (aka Flohio) employs an energetic, acerbic style inspired by grime, but doesn't strictly adhere to the rules of the genre.

Born in Lagos, Ohiosumad moved to South London at a young age. It was through her local youth center in Bermondsey that she nurtured her love for music and developed her rap style, using their on-site recording studio. She joined Kids Company (another youth center), which found her a part-time position as a graphic designer for Ninja Tune. Eventually her music career began to take off, prompting her to hand in her notice at the label in the lead-up to Glastonbury 2017, just after the release of her debut EP, 2016's Nowhere Near. Flohio became highly sought after for collaborations, with notable projects including work alongside God Colony, MDSLKTR, and the Streets. Between guest spots, Ohiosumad released a follow-up EP, Wild Yout, in 2018. Her debut mixtape, No Panic, No Pain, arrived in 2020 and featured the lead single "Unveiled," which was the original title for the project before undergoing a last-minute change. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
