Born Jerrel Brown, Kiotti was active performing and recording in Houston's underground rap circles as early as 2003. He released several projects in the 2000s, most notably the 2007 mixtape Almost Famous. DJing and radio work took over as a focus at a certain point, and Kiotti (sometimes going under the name "Hardbody Kiotti" in reference to his muscular physique) became one of Houston's best-known DJs. In addition to hosting events and parties, his radio show became a go-to for area hip-hop fans to hear new tracks and exclusive interviews with regional and national rappers. Kiotti kept his artistry alive, releasing "H-Town for Real," an ode to his city in 2018. The song was remixed the next year and Kiotti also issued the single "Bouncin' Big Body," featuring guest vocals from up-and-coming Houston rapper Zoda Great. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
