When Maureen Tucker was pregnant in 1970, session guests and other members of the Velvet Underground covered for her on the group's fourth album, Loaded. One of those musicians was Tommy Castanaro, simply identified as Tommy on the original back cover. It's not definite which tracks Castanaro played on, although the expanded Fully Loaded Edition CD version of Loaded notes him as playing on Cool It Down and Head Held High. In the liner notes, Velvet Underground guitarist Sterling Morrison remembered Castanaro as "a nice Long Island-rocker type. He said if he couldn't play drums, he wouldn't want to live. I liked him."
