Biography
After over a decade of activity, Sôber, one of Spain's premier hard rock bands of the 1990s, splintered into two separate bands, one of which was Skizoo, formed by guitarists Jorge Escobedo and Antonio Bernardini. The ex-Sôber guitarists were joined in Skizoo by vocalist Morti, bassist Daniel Criado, and drummer Dani Pérez. Signed to EMI, the band released its debut album, Skizoo, in May 2005 -- three months after Savia, the other band formed by ex-Sôber members (vocalist Carlos Escobedo [i.e., the brother of Jorge] and drummer Alberto Madrid), released a debut of their own, Insensible. Skizoo spawned a trio of singles (Arriésgate, Renuncia al Sol, Habrá Que Olvidar) and was subsequently reissued by EMI in 2006 with a few bonus tracks. In 2007 Skizoo released their second album, Incerteza, which featured bassist Edu Fernandez, who had replaced Daniel Criado in 2005. Led by the single Dame Aire, Incerteza proved popular among Spanish hard rock fans. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
