Biography
The Lost City Angels are a bunch of New England punk rockers who came along during the emo landslide after the turn of the century. Originally consisting of drummer Adam Shaw, bassist Duggan, and guitarist Drew Indingaro, the group wrote a series of demos consisting of dynamic, energetic punk rock right when they started. Drafting in singer Ron Ragona and guitarist Nicholas Bacon, the group hit the club scene and started building a reputation during 2001. After recording several songs with former Mighty Mighty Bosstones member Nate Albert, the five-some put together their favorite tracks and brought it to Nitro Records for an eponymous 2002 release. Tour dates followed with bands like Dropkick Murphys, Teen Idols, and Autopilot Off before the Boston-based band inked a deal with Stay Gold Records, an imprint of Universal. Dates with Spitalfield and Catch 22 preceded the April 2005 release of their follow-up, Broken World, and the Angels jumped on a subsequent tour opening for Social Distortion. As work began on their next album, the band's lineup splintered when Ragona and Bacon abruptly made their departure in the summer of 2006. A few months later, new lead vocalist Sweeney Todd (ex-Dead Pets) was announced. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
