Biography
Frank Caliendo is an impressionist loved by David Letterman, Bob Tom, and many other television hosts, although John Madden is definitely not on the list. Born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Waukesha, WI, Caliendo played comedy clubs until 2000, when he joined the WB television network's sketch comedy show #Hype. When the show was canceled in 2001, he followed fellow cast member Daniele Gaither to Fox's #MADtv, where he would add new life to the show with his impressions of George W. Bush and John Madden. It was the latter who caught the attention of David Letterman, the late-night television host who invited Caliendo onto his show in 2002 just as the impressionist was releasing his debut album, Make the Voices Stop. It was the first of many appearances on Letterman's show, but radio kept Caliendo even busier with Bob Tom, Opie Anthony, Howard Stern, and many other morning jocks all calling upon the impressionist. Two volumes of his Frank on the Radio CDs sourced from these radio appearances were released in 2003, which was the same year he replaced Jimmy Kimmel on the Fox television network's #NFL Sunday. In 2007 he left #MADtv and landed his own sketch show on the TBS cable network called #Frank TV. That same year the network introduced Caliendo with the special #All Over the Place, which was released on DVD and CD in 2008 on the Warner Bros. label. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
