How other people perceive your problems

Watching all my ethics slip away

A warm blanket of blessed relief
"Hey I work my ass off for a living
When I come home I deserve a good time"
But it's funny how things progress
And the good times just get boring
Pretty soon you're just avoiding the pain
Everybody else takes for granted

Endlessly climbing out of Hell

Don't talk to me about the 12 steps
I can walk by myself, thank you very much
And I know just where I'm walking
I'm walking right out of here
I don't want to have to think about scoring
And have to think about it again the next day
I'm still paying off the last joyride
I don't care to jump on again
