The Mullingar Fleadh will be never forgot
By those who were there

It was good and the music was grand
The jigs and the reels and
The songs of our land
There was banjos and whistles
And bodhráns and pipes
And fiddles and zithers and
Flutes of all types!

The old fashioned songs

We'll all sing along

And we sang the great songs of old Ireland

I heard the pipes played
With the magical sound
I've seen a jig danced and
They ne'er touched the ground
'Twas attended by all
Both the living and the dead
The sane and insane, sure
They all shared a bed
And Bagus and Venus, they sported and played
And the weekend extended by four to five days

The old fashioned songs

And songs they were killed
Without reason or rhyme
And songs resurrected from beginnings of time
I heard a traditional rock and roll song
Some sang it right and some sang it wrong
The stories, the love songs, the old songs
The new the jigs and the reels and
The rebel songs too!
