Biography
Discovered by Mickie Most, the Moquettes were a Reading-based quartet that played British beat and R&B with a stripped-down sounding guitar and organ -- both courtesy of Ray Whiteworth -- with harmonica (Keith Neville, bass (Tago Byers), and drums Colin Sheaf. They were signed to EMI's Columbia label, where they released one single, a rocking cover of the Piano Red classic Right String Baby But The Wrong Yo-Yo that failed to chart and, as of the spring of 2000, has yet to reappear on CD. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
