Biography
Bahari's shimmery, harmonic pop has borrowed alternately from folk, AM pop, pulsing EDM, and yearning R&B. The band's debut EP, Dancing on the Sun, appeared in 2016.

Bahari arrived on the scene in late 2014 with the release of their folk-tinged debut single, "Wild Ones." The three singers -- keyboardist Ruby Carr, bassist Natalia Panzarella, and guitarist Sidney Sartini -- were also featured vocalists on the single "Addicted to a Memory" from Zedd's 2015 hit album True Colors. Demonstrating influences from the breadth of AM pop and girl groups, the band's debut EP, Dancing on the Sun, arrived in May 2016 on Interscope Records. The next year brought a handful of singles from Bahari, including covers of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" and the Youngbloods' "Get Together." Around that time, they parted ways with Interscope, self-releasing 2018's "Fucked Up" and "Savage," which offered a more pop-oriented electronic approach. Before the end of the year, Sartini left the group, and Carr and Panzarella went forward as a duo.

A collaborative single with Sultan + Shepard and Rock Mafia, "Miles to Your Heart," arrived on 12TONE/WEA in mid-2019, the same year Bahari released their own "Gameboy." A tour with Elohim followed in early 2020, and the two-piece Bahari signed with Epic Records mid-year. Their debut on the label was a remix of "Savage" featuring Bia. The duo followed it quickly with the original song "Waking Up Neighbors" from their full-length debut, The Virgin Suicides. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
