Biography
Thee was a quartet of suburban teenagers who played a raw, crunchy, very dancable brand of British beat-style rock 'n roll. In 1965, they were discovered by Reggie King, a member of The Boys and The Action, who was also working as Andrew Oldham's driver, and he became their manager. It was through Oldham that they were given a Mick Jagger-Keith Richards song that the Rolling Stones weren't using, Each and Every Day, which became the A-side of their first and only single, released by English Decca in May of 1965. It turned out not to be much of a song (an opinion obviously shared by the Rolling Stones, whose demo was singularly uninspired), but the B-side, There You Go, was an energetic piece of British beat that approximated the sound of the early Hollies. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
