A jazz supergroup, the Monterey Quartet feature bassist Dave Holland, pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, saxophonist Chris Potter, and drummer Eric Harland. Formed in 2007 to play at that year's Monterey Jazz Festival, the band is a true democratic unit, with each member contributing compositions.
