An R&B singer from South Carolina, Nikkiya left lasting impressions on Yelawolf’s “Speak Her Sex” (Trunk Muzik mixtape, 2010) and Tech N9ne's “Delusional” and “Promiseland” (All 6’s and 7’s, 2011) prior to releasing her first mixtape, Speakher, in August 2011. The diverse 11-track release was a promising showcase for Nikkiya’s down-to-earth point of view and nimble, sly, slightly scratchy voice.
