The Love Hall Tryst
Biography
Formed by acclaimed singer/songwriter/novelist John Wesley Harding, the Love Hall Tryst perform four-part a cappella arrangements of traditional and original ballads and folktales from the U.K. When Harding, who uses his real name, Wesley Stace, when writing in book form, wanted to release an audio companion to his 2005 historical novel -Misfortune, he asked longtime friend and fellow musician Kelly Hogan to join him. Hogan suggested singer/songwriter Nora O'Connor (the Blacks, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire), and Harding coaxed singer/actor/comic/friend Brian Lohmann to join in as the baritone. The group recorded Songs of Misfortune in the vast caverns of the Troy, NY, Savings Bank and released the album in July of 2005 on Appleseed Records. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
