Detroit's first regional rock supergroup, Guardian Angel was founded in 1972 by former Rationals frontman Scott Morgan and bassist Terry Trabandt in tandem with ex-Savage Grace singer/guitarist Al Jacquez; joined by lead guitarist Jeff Jones and Morgan's drummer brother Dave, the band quickly translated its members' past successes into a major fan following of their own, earning renown throughout the southeastern Michigan concert circuit for their incendiary live appearances.
